Who I teach:
I work very well with all levels of musicianship and can prepare a student for college auditions as well as inspire the hobbyist and dabbler. I enjoy working with neurodiverse students of all ages and abilities! I believe that music reaches into our core being, strengthening our belief in each other's kindness and beauty.
What to expect:
We will talk about what you want from the piano, what you want to hear from yourself, and what steps are needed to achieve these goals. I will support you by incorporating music theory, rhythm, improvising, sight-reading, finger exercises, assigned listening, and lots of encouragement and practical analysis. We will compose, discuss music history, and play a lot of music!
I present two studio recitals a year and encourage parents to accompany their child on guitar, flute, piano, or even sing along! If you are an adult student looking for performance opportunities I can help you present a musical evening for your neighbors and friends. Or if you are looking for guidance in creating and running jam sessions, I can help facilitate that process as well.
If you are more career-minded, I can provide the supports of competitions, master classes, and additional recital opportunities.
The piano world is yours to explore!
